Sept 11 Webinar with 1Life Workplace Safety & Health

Written by

We are proud to announce that Tim will be participating in a webinar with 1Life Workplace Safety and Health on September 11, 2012 at 1 PM central time. Here is how 1Life has described the webinar:

On any given week in Manitoba a company is out of business because of a fire related incident. What would be the cost of a fire in your business? How would your people and your supply chain be affected?

Webinar content will include:

  • The major causes of business fires and how to prevent them (It's not cigarettes and matches in wastepaper baskets anymore!)
  • The procedures contractors are required to have under the building code before hotwork is performed and how to ensure they are in place.
  • Fire drills and evacuation; what's required by law and how to avoid common mistakes.
  • Case Studies: success stories where fire planning saved the businesses and how you can adopt the same practices to ensure your business continuity.

The webinar is free for all but you need to register ahead of time. Click here to register for the session at 1 PM on September 11, 2012.

Tim was recently interviewed by Canadian Occupational Safety Magazine for ideas for an article on how to make fire drills fun. There are a few tidbits in the article, stay tuned for a future "Ask The Inspector" article with even more details.
